hey hey hey.
You know what time it is! Friday chit chats are starting to become my new favorite post. I feel like it’s super close to what most people think I do when I say I have a “blog”. I think we’ve done a pretty good job of treating this blog like a business and side hustle, but I still love that raw story telling aspect to the whole world of blogging.
So, what’s up for today? I figured I needed to introduce myself.

Odd, I know. I realized that aside from the About Me page there’s not really much on here where I just talk about who I am. I figured that it was a little backwards for me to get up here and tell you about my week and life if you have no idea who I am or what I’m about. If you haven’t been following from the beginning and getting the little snips of information along the way, you have no idea who I am.
So, I’m gonna tell you what I think are the most interesting and important things to know about me! Who’s ready?!
Basic Info
Hi there, I’m Gabby! Nice to meet ya. I am a rising senior at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. I decided to go to Carolina because it has one of the best chemistry departments in the country! You guessed it: I’m a chemistry major; more importantly specializing in biochemistry. My campus and the people here are beautiful; 10/10 would recommend.
I’m originally from Coastal Virginia. I have a 16 year old brother who is a lot cooler than me. We drive the same car in different colors [mine is white and her name is Ashanti]. My mom and I are legit twinz and the same person when it comes to style and fashion. My dad and I think very alike and have similar approaches to life things. I say that I’m the perfect blend of both my parents. For the record, my brother and I are nothing alike.
Hobbies & Passions
I am one of those annoying people in life who is the master of many talents. I like to say that I’m good at a lot of things, but not really great at anything. Which is why it’s been really hard for me to commit to a career path for longer than 6 months. How do you reconcile simply being good at something with truly wanting to do something? I still don’t really know.

Biomedical sciences are challenging and are ever changing in what we know and don’t know. That challenge is what is appealing to me. I know that I can always jump into a new project and work on something new. That’s why I chose that path. I’m not honestly a believer in the whole find your passion thing because I think I’m proof that you can have several different passions. It might be why people switch jobs so frequently. But, I don’t want jobs. I want a career.
I’m passionate about culture, art, and history. Museums are my happy place. I love taking pictures and learning about different cultures and the people that come from them. I think that’s why travel is something I don’t mind spending money on. Even the culture shift from the east coast to the west coast has been absolutely fascinating.
Oh, and I really love food. I’m working on adding some recipes to my repertoire.
Favorites
Coffee is the love of my life. I’m happy with iced coffee or a vanilla latte. My favorite season is fall and I love Zumba classes; it’s my favorite way to workout. Movies and television tie us back to that theme of a love for culture and story. Scandal is my all time favorite show. Grey’s Anatomy and Riverdale are so freaking entertaining.
I think it would be a lie to pick a favorite musician, band, or genre. My most listened to songs of 2016 were Schoolin’ Life x Beyonce; PILLOWTALK x Zayn; and Send My Love x Adele. Not super surprised that my queens topped the list; but, I was a Zayn skeptic at first, so I guess I should formally apologize for that.
Breakfast is my favorite meal and I love french toast especially when it involves strawberries and nutella. Half Baked is the OG Ben and Jerry’s flavor. The naked palettes are my favorite makeup product. I only drink Sprite or Dr. Pepper if I’m going to get soda which I rarely do anymore.
Random Notes
I want to achieve Cole Sprouse’s level of petty. The Twilight franchise of movies is the worst; but the books were dang good. I want to read more. I’m a sucker for a good YA novel to this day. Gavin, the kid from everyone’s favorite memes, is my spirit animal. I don’t think I’m funny, but I think I can put a smile on almost anyone’s face. I would not necessarily self identify as an extrovert; but according to everyone’s favorite test, I am an ENTJ.

Flamingo prints are my jam right now. I appear to be about 10x more organized then I actually am. I have a calm presence until I get sleep deprived or eat a lot of sugar. Then, I’m a ball of uncontrolled energy. I think science puns and jokes are sooooo funny. Lasers shoot out of my eyes whenever I am called Gabriel on the first day of class.
I have a hard time trusting people and it takes me a long time to open up to people. The growth that I’ve experienced over the past three years has been monumental. I have the most amazing sibs {bros} on the planet. Phi Sig till I die sig, ya feel. NO, okay. I’m just trying to live my best life and take in one day at a time. Life is so short.
SO, there’s a bit more about me than I think you can find anywhere else on the internet or off to be honest. Now that I’ve had a major word vomit all about myself. Let’s learn something about all of y’all— I told you I was southern!
